Local Pick Up Is Recommended and Highly Preferred For your consideration is this Vintage W.H. Gunlocke "Posture Chair" from the late 1930's This is a fully adjustable Banker's type chair and is in amazingly awesome condition. This chair is all original and unrestored in any way. There are no breaks in the wood, everything is tight and perfect. I am not a wood expert, but I believe the piece is made of Oak. The steel adjustment assembly is also in great shape with no damage and no rust. The five caster floor rollers are all original, work great and are also firmly affixed to the base. The chair is clearly marked "W.H. Gunlocke" on the steel adjustment assembly and also on the underside bottom of the seat bottom itself, under the steel adjustment assembly. The steel adjustment assembly has a stamped "Pat. No. 2093319" The steel wheel casters have a stamped "Pat No 191420" (best guess, hard to read) The back of the seat bottom has a small round metal tag nailed to it which bears the initials "W.P.B." There are a few painted stencil markings; on the underside of the seat is "HDJ" (again, best guess) and on one of the chair legs is "BBC" (best guess) and the numbers "4025". The back side of the seat back also has a small red sticker and a larger white sticker which seem to have been added post production, but have been affixed for a while. There are a series of adjustments that include: Screw type height adjustment. Front handle screw adjustment for the upper seat back position, forward and back. Side "T" handle for adjusting for the lower seat back position seat back position, forward and back. Back center slide clip for adjusting the seat back up and down. The only 'issues' with the chair are: 1) There is a small gouge in the wooden seat top, but this is old damage which has worn smooth and patinaed the same as the rest of the wood. (photo #6...Silver Certificate Dollar is not included!!) 2) The wheels themselves are a type of plastic and all have several very small minor nicks around the circumference, but these are not easily seen, have no affect on the rolling and do not affect the integrity of the wheels. The chair weights about 40 pounds! ***Due to Size and Weight, Local Pickup is Strongly Encouraged*** Any Request for additional specific photographs will be granted Please feel free to ask any questions.
