Vintage Ethan Allen Heirloom Solid Maple Nutmeg Rush Dining Chair | Rattan
Often the word used to describe the Ethan Allen Heirloom Collection is "stunning." I'm not sure that I would choose that word. These are incredibly attractive pieces, but they're just not in the "stunning" category. They're reserved and stately. They're clever and useful. They're gorgeous, just in a different way. The Mid-Century modern movement gives so much weight to the stunning pieces. The large, sweeping arches within the genre are stunning. These are more traditional than that. There's no shortage of breathtaking, though.
I've been a fine, rare and collectible furnishings dealer for nearly 20 years and I have chosen these chairs for my dining room until very recently. I'm speaking from first-hand knowledge when I say that these are a comfortable as they are functional and against most pieces, oh darn, here goes my theory from above.... THEY'RE STUNNING! My family has loved them for nearly a decade. I can't fall in love with them, however. In this economy, I can't afford to allow them to remain off the market.
There are no major flaws, defects or damage.
