Penn Antique Restoration Antique Solid Wood Chair w/Seagrass Seat Lovely, solid wood side chair salvaged from
Central Connecticut. It was made sometime during the first half of the
previous century. It's made of solid wood and has a medium colored
stain. Except for the backrest which consists of 2 flat horizontal rails with 4
flat vertical spindles; all wooden parts are cylindrical (round). The 4 feet and
2 finials on the posts are round, almost ball-shaped. My favorite part is the
seat; it's all hand-woven sea grass--very cool! Our carpenter inspected the
chair from top to bottom, and didn't need to make any repairs or reinforce
anything as the chair
is
strong and sturdy. Structurally, the chair is in great
condition. Expect nicks, scratches, spots of worn finish, and small spots of
paint. Although the seat looks distressed, it's in good shape and provides
adequate support. There are no breaks,
cracks, dents, gouges, rot, or warp. The chair is ready for another lifetime
of service. Dimensions Seat : (width-front) 17 3/4 " (width-back) 14 3/4 " (depth) 14 1/4 " Backrest : 19 3 /8 "H Height : (Floor to Seat) 17 1/2 " (Floor to Top of backrest) 3 8 1/4 "
