Pair of 1950s Edward Wormley for Dunbar Cane back Chairs model 5700a. The continuous laminated ash legs wrap around the entire chair and form the swooping arch back. The pressed caning lets the piece breathe and provides interest when viewed from any angle in your room. Subtle raised accents at the ends of the stretchers give a nod to a Japanese influence. The cantilevered seats and cantilevered arms with a distinctive curved design really set the design apart from other chairs. A true masterpiece from Edward Wormley.

Condition:
New refinish to the frames. Some pressure dings to the frame and local spots of delamination but all are glued and stable. Some filler used in separated areas. New performance boucle on the seat. With a slightly different color high end Italian wool blend circular down filled pillow. The pillows both retain their original Dunbar tags.
