It is incredibly comfortable, beautifully handcrafted (USA), and beautiful solid oak... this is a lifetime investment. The one Tanner McCall (singer/songwriter renown) is sitting on in the pictures is 14 years old, used daily, and is totally solid, looks like new except for a little wear from his shoes on the stretchers. This stool was born out of necessity. Many years ago I was suffering from a prostate issue, spent too much time racing bicycles and dating the wrong women, and it was impossible to sit for any period of time playing the guitar. The standard, stupid, guitar stool was a killer. A New England running shoe company developed a rounded heel insert that cupped your foots' heel and thereby dissipated the direct forces that caused pain. My thought was if you could cup your butt, so to speak, this would relieve the direct forces that cause butt pain and fatigue. And allow your butt to perform as it was designed, dissipating the direct forces into the fatty portion of one's butt. Unlike today's guitar stools, which have a small hard flat round plate that one perches their butt on, causing pain, and can not be used comfortably for more than a few songs - this stool cups your butt and you can sit on it and play for hours at a time, all day if you like, in total comfort. It was designed so one can move around on it in many different positions allowing even more comfort (see illustrations with Tanner). The stool has a place in the middle of the seat for one's hand for easy transport to gigs and the stage. Once you use The Appalachian Guitar Company's stool you will never sit your butt on anything else. It also fits beautifully on a women's butt I might say. It may even be a nicer fit, certainly prettier. The stool is available in two versions, one in 24 inch, as pictured,  another in 30 inch for stage use and tall people. The 30 inch is 30 dollars more. And for those very tall individuals, we can custom make their stool with a longer strut to accommodate longer legs. Because of the pandemic delivery is generally four to seven weeks.
