This chair is one of a set of 6 Sheboygan Chair Company Bow-Brace Back Armchairs. This specific model 1116 was found in a 1927-1928 company catalog but is referenced back to at least 1923 catalogs. Age of original production unknown, may be even earlier than 1923. Some of the chairs bare parts of the original labels which is how I was able to identify. The full label shown is just a sample of the company labels at the time. Chairs with partial labels will have photos of them. Sheboygan Chair Company was established in 1886. Per historical records it was the first furniture manufacturer in Sheboygan which became known as “Chair City” I picked up 6 of these at an auction. I am listing this a bit low to get it out there. I’m an hour and a 1/2 away from any reasonable packing material so am hoping it doesn’t sell before I have to make that road trip. I will get it shipped within 3 days of purchase regardless if it sells before trip. All 6 are in good shape with signs of age and 100 years or so use. They all have a similar patina to this one. This one has one leg loose in insert hole on underside of seat. Shown in close up. The correct type of glue and it’s an easy fix. One of the other five has a crack on top of back that can be repaired. Shipping is by FedEx or UPS. This requires a physical ship to address in the mainland US.
