Geaux Vintage Antiques Antique French Hall Bench Chair Settee Renaissance Revival Carved Oak 19 th c Direct from France, an exquisite, highly carved antique hall bench or settee! Carved with outstanding Renaissance Revival designs, the bench back features carved border panels around the large center with dimensional carvings of floral and foliate and a center cartouche with French ribbon. Lower panel has large, dimensional carved center mask amidst floral and foliate scrolls. Note the carved masks and Black Forest style carved fruits on either side of the lower panel. Heavy, carved upper arms gracefully slope to shaped scroll supports. Obviously, this hall bench is higher quality than most, as noted in the attention to details throughout, including additional carvings on each of the side panels. Lovely aged patina, well built by craftsmen of the period, circa1880. Measurements: 37.5” ht. x 53” x 19.25”. Seat height from floor, 18.5”. NOTE: All of our antiques are direct from Europe.
