An 1840's-1860's American Gothic Revival Armchair.
This chair is beautifully carved in walnut,
with the old red velvet upholstery.
The old casters used on the front legs
are in the old style and possibly original.
The chair is hand carved
with decorative Medallions and Spindles
and wonderfully ebonized traceries within the carvings,
making it a very beautifully and rare chair.
The American Gothic period furniture
was made between the 1840's to 1860's
and was made for and used
in the Gothic homes of the period.
Condition: In very good age related condition.
