Mid-century modern white plastic bucket seat chair with original metal legs/base. Designed by Sam Avedon (based on patent info on chair bottom) and manufactured by Alladin Plastics . This chair was made in 1961-62. These chairs are among the first made of molded polypropylene, rather than fiberglass. They were considered a breakthrough in modern furniture. Aged label - Hobie Surfboard, Dana Point, Calif . Chair measures:17.5" x 20.5" x 31.25"; Seat height 16.5" . One of the original articulated feet is present, three are missing. Plastic chair is clean, no cracks or breaks; all metal legs and supports are straight and sturdy.
